Free-estimateTo a hearth dealer, a “fireplace” is an entire unit that goes in where there was once a  blank wall.

You select a fireplace unit, a mantle, and various trim and accessories. Costs vary widely because there are so many possible trim combinations. If you already have a fireplace, and are looking to convert it to gas, you’re probably more likely to need a fireplace insert or gas logs.

Three steps to ordering your fireplace.

Step 1: Figure out how you’re going to vent it. There are three common ways: direct vent, natural vent, and vent-free. We can help you determine which venting method is most affordable, practical, and safe for your particular home.

Step 2: Determine the physical size of the fireplace space. With a gas fireplace, the  physical dimensions usually determine the BTU size (heat output) you can have. Do this by measuring the area where you intend to install the fireplace. Don’t forget about clearances for the vent from doors and windows.

Step 3: Select the actual unit, trim features and options you would like for your home.

While we will gladly repair and service any propane gas fireplace model, we recommend the following units:

White Mountain Hearth® Direct Vent Gas Fireplace

White Mountain Hearth direct vent gas fireplaceThe Tahoe Series by White Mountain Hearth is our most popular direct vent fireplace. It is available in four sizes: 32″, 36″, 42″ and 48″ and three trim lines: deluxe, premium and  luxury.

This direct-vent fireplace draws in fresh outside air to support combustion and exhausts  combustion by-products to the outdoors. The Tahoe’s vent-within-a-vent isolates the incoming fresh air from the exhaust, yet still requires just a single hole through the wall or  roof.

The large heat-resistant, tempered glass window provides an unobstructed view to the hand-painted log set.

The all-new burner on Deluxe models – designed specifically to complement the new log  set – produces a natural dancing flame.

Premium models also include a new log set, mounted atop the popular Slope Glaze Burner, which is rated at 28,000 Btu (DVP42FP) and 30,000 Btu (DVP48FP). The result is a rich flame pattern within a taller, deeper log stack that complements the deeper premium fireplace. All models include glowing embers and lava rock.

All Tahoe fireplaces are offered with factory-installed blower and aged brick liner, or with installed liner, or with installed blower. An optional Herringbone firebrick liner features lighter color bricks, artfully smoked to enhance the realism.

White Mountain Hearth® Natural Vent (B-Vent) Gas Fireplace

White Mountain Keystone B-Vent fireplaceKeystone B-Vent fireplaces combine modern technology with traditional venting to create the appearance and performance of a conventional fireplace but with the convenience of gas.

Our B-vent systems let you prolong the flicker of the flames without overheating your room. The BVD-34 input is 21,000 Btu, the BVD-36 is 25,000 Btu and the Premium BVP-42 is 30,000 Btu.

The deep Premium 42-inch B-Vent fireplace features a Vent-Free Slope Glaze Burner – the industry standard for great-looking flames. Ceramic-glazed pellets in the burner tumble and swirl the gas to produce a natural flickering fire.

The Deluxe 34- and 36-inch B-Vent fireplaces include hand-painted logs artfully arranged on a more compact contour burner. Keystone fireplaces come with matte-black slat louvers (except flush-front models), and operable curtain screens.

The Keystone B-Vent fireplace features hem-bent seams that provide a better seal while eliminating dozens of screws and fasteners. The result is a lighter, more rigid box that’s easier to install.

Two styles of optional ceramic brick liners – aged brick and herringbone – create the illusion of a masonry fireplace.

White Mountain Hearth® Vent-Free Gas Fireplace

At 99.9 percent efficiency, the Vent-Free Slope Glaze Burner delivers more heat for your energy dollars – 32,000 Btu for the Vail 32 and 36,000 Btu for the Vail 36. Ceramic-glazed pellets in the burner tumble and swirl the gas to produce a natural flickering flame.

Metal three-piece outer frames let you transition from your fireplace to any adjoining surface – wooden mantel, tile, stone, or any noncombustible material. Choose from steel frames – with traditional crisp lines – or our new extruded aluminum frames – with a profile that combines gentle concaves with flat surfaces. Each is available in matte black, hammered pewter, polished brass, and stainless steel finish. Our new bottom trim completes the fourth side of the color frame.

The basic Vail operates with a built-in modulating hydraulic thermostat that can connect to a simple wall switch or one of four wall thermostats – even a wireless model (TRW)  that simplifies installation. Or step up to a Remote-Ready Vail Fireplace and select a battery-operated thermostat remote control.
